Alack alack alack.
First and foremost, tonight is THE MONDAY NIGHT COMEDY SHOW
8pm
Beat Coffeehouse
$3
Doors at 7:30pm
Tonight we have Stand up and Improv. ANd of course, The reading of a page from RoboCop II.
That is our MNCS Book Club Book. Scheduled for completion in February of 2013.
And just so you know, if more than 25 people say that they will come via our facebook event page, I will wear a Panther Suit.
Not that I am gimmicky or anything. It's just that I like Gimmicks.
Speaking of Gimmicks, I am going to be adding one more weekly thing in August that I think might be fun. Let's just say that it rhymes with Karaoke.
That was your brain teaser for today.
I was hoping that more Minnesota Fringe shows would have approached me to do some kind of teaser/preview thing to promote their shows. No such luck.
The offer still stands, but people gotta ask.
And we only have tonight and next week to make it worth anyones while.
Deadlines, people! Deadlines!
Last night was our tech rehearsal for 'Waking in Minneapolis' A show written by Chris knutson (Roommate)
I only have a few small parts, as i am overly stressed with my Indiana Fringe show- 'Confessions of a Fringe Technician'
I decided last night that if and when I mount it here in the Cities, I will give comps to all the MN Fringe Techs who this play is dedicated to.
The Tech Rehearsal went smoothly enough.
It would be nice if our leading lady would want to hang out with the cast after rehearsal, but other than that, moral seems to have improved. The flats are incredibly neat. I like the city skyline ones, personally, but that hearkens back to the days when i wanted that as an armband tattoo to compliment my existing ink.
So as it usually does, everything seems to be coming together.
Mondays are my longest days lately with work from 7 to 3, rehearsal from 5 to 7 (which I leave a half hour early from to make it to The Beat for The Monday Night Comedy Show. Then I drink at The Green mill with wreckless abandon. Something I will be toning down as my pocketbook is rather skint these days.
My good friend Aaron (Gwirtz, the one from high school) agreed to design my postcards for the Indy show. And he said he would do the flyers without me having to ask him.
He is trying to start a Graphic design company, so this is good practice. And since everything is done online these days, i think he will benefit from all these silly actors he keeps making friends with.
I am going to be printing some shirts for Aaron Christopher's Fringe Show 'Musical The Musical'
He is on the horn with Northwest Graphics about screen sizes and images.
"On the horn" means he is talking on the telephone with a 'skirt' with 'great stems'
'Geek' means me. I should not be allowed to write. Ever.
I lost contact with someone very close to me a while ago. I shouldn't say 'lost'. I had to walk away as a sort of self-preservation thing. They meant the absolute world to me, and not a day went or goes by without me thinking about them. I wish her every good wish I can think of, and I suppose that means I have kept a promise I made a long time ago. All of this falls under too much to take in on a Monday or any other day of the week. I suddenly feel very empty and numb. I am way too sensitive for anyones good. Least of all myself. I can apologize forever to everyone I want to give everything to, but can't. I can apologize to myself, too, but at the end of the day, it's just making excuses for things about me I want to change, but refuse to out of being stubborn. Mainly I just feel stupid 99% of the time. I use humor to mask it all. Keeping it bottled up inside until I run away as fast as I can. Maybe I should start beating up pillows or fighting ninjas.
Demons demons demons. Where is that copy of the Necronomicon?
Sorry this got heavy.
Fuck it dude, let's go bowling.
Congratulations on your marriage, Loki.
Please forgive me.
Come to the show tonight. It may work out. It's just me tonight, so bear with the trainwreck. I think we should be a fully operational battle station next week. But I could use the audience tonight.
Have a great day and keep doing what you are doing. (read: Stay Awesome)

A little update for those who matter most: You.
I don't have much to tell you.
Life has been plugging along at about a 50cc pace. You don't need a license for this life of mine, but you do need insurance and maybe a helmet would be a good idea too.
I bump into poles and scrape the sides of the road with a conviction you might only see in a Nascar race. Also, i hate Nascar.
But I don't hate you.
I've missed you, bloggettes. I've missed you bad.
But again, not much to report except the progress I have made towards domination of your Planet.
Loads of progress.
I loved me some Dark Knight. I also liked Hellboy II. I am probably going to like X-Files II as well.
Like they say: 'Movies is Magic'
I am trying to come up with a word to describe how my family is falling apart at the seams. Just one word. I keep coming back to "Cursed"
I think I have been upgraded to #2, maybe a solid #3 on the 'Most stable' list. That is saying a lot. My brother, Matt still has me beat by miles and miles. But at least everyone still likes me. I think. I should call more.
It might be too soon to tell, but my show, 'Confessions of a Fringe Technician' might be pretty good.
I think there might be some stiff competition this year in Indy for best of the fest, but I might surprise a few folks with marketing strategems.
Think Juice boxes and how much you like them.
my cast is responsive even after only 2 full rehearsals. The process is a lot more relaxed than my last couple of IndyFringe endeavors. I don't plan on freaking out, but then I never really say 'Today is a good day to explode'
The cast consists of
TECH- played by me. Your everyday Fringe Technician. With a taste for Jameson, and the need for an up-to-date script. Enjoys Swords and hoe-saws. yep. It's back again...
ACTOR #1- Played by Ann Cooper. She is one of those Fringe actors who has a day job, and just thought theatre would be a hoot. But she is also a turbo slut and will make the kissy face with just about everyone. Likes Red Wine and tight shirts.
ACTOR #2- Played by Jason Kruger. The official 'Comedic Element' of this 'Comedic Show' Simpleton. Enjoys sharing and making paper airplanes. lives off of his father's money, because he cannot hold down a job due to his distract-able nature. Should probably wear a helmet 24 hours a day. Likes Juiceboxes more than anyone should.
ACTOR #3- Played by Lot Turner. The Douchebag element of most actors involved in theatre, not just The Fringe. Drama is his middle name. He refers to it as: 'The Craft'. That should say it all. He is God's gift to the stage, and wants everyone to know it. He NEEDS everyone to know it.
Everyone WILL know it. He used to date Actor # 1, but she cheated on him with everyone.
He would drink Arthur Miller's blood if it were on tap at the nearest sports bar.
That being said, you should try to come see it.
I am hoping I can mount it here in the cities after I get home from Indy.
I might invoke the most holy name of Logan Jambik to the people of the Jungle Theatre. Methinks he has some pull there.
The Monday Night Comedy Show continues to impress me with the steady numbers in attendance. Our strength comes from the regulars who are there every week.
And from the staff I have collected over the course of the last year and almost a half.
And from the silly little bits I keep trying to build on to make them keep coming.
My hope is that the fall will bring in even more people, as word spreads.
I'm really looking forward to the 'PRESIDENT OF COMEDY' elections we will be having around the time of the actual elections.
Hell, if I can get even one person to vote who otherwise wouldn't, then I think we have done a good job. (remember, if you don't vote, and are able to- you are sticking up your middle finger to the people who fought with everything they had(or didn't have) for that right. Just vote, ok? It's best that you do. End soapbox)
More on the election as it approaches us.
My front bike tire got slashed about a week ago.
I usually park it in front of the mansion, locked up. I am thinking someone was going to steal it, realized they couldn't and stabbed it to make it die.
I spent the last of my petty cash to fix up the back tire of the mountain behemoth so I would have reliable transport.
The tires are too thick to go super fast in the city, as I am prone to do, but I can go over curbs and small children if they get in my way. Which they are prone to do...
At any rate, screw people who try to steal bikes.
my nephew Anders scored next to perfect on the ACT recently, which means that every school in the Ivy league wants to have babies with his brain. My favourite was the three page letter from Harvard telling him to apply. Props to him, as he is the smartest kid I know. And I like that I can still give him a hard time about his hair being in his eyes all the time.
Speaking of, I need a haircut. However, this is the year I do not get one. I want to look like Thor before years end.
I am staring to look like The Dude from Big Lebowski.
And at the Mill the other night, some of the girls put me into pigtails. Some girl at another table said I looked like 'Barf' from Spaceballs.
I need to go on a diet.
Girls are mean.
Waking in Minneapolis is the MN Fringe show I am in besides the Indy one.
We are at The Mixed Blood near Seven Corners. Kind of by the little Bridge that collapsed last summer. I have flyers for that show coming out of every pocket. Please take one and spread the word.
I am working at The Beat tonight till 11pm, and tomorrow till 11pm as well. If you are of the type who likes coffee, please come and visit me. I will be the one with the samurai ponytail checking his facebook every five minutes.
Have a great night, and remember to Stay Awesome even if it means breaking a few state laws.

They say it's my Birthday...
I turn 30 today.
So far, the week that is now AndyWeek 2008 has been a good one.
Here's the lowdown:
My dear friend Lindsey McDonald Dorsey got me a pocketwatch (something I have wanted for a long long time) it has my Initials ADB (for Andrew Danger Brynildson) on the front, and a place for a picture inside that I hope to put a phot of Sean Connery as Henry Jones Sr. as soon as I am able.
This actually happened a couple months ago, but it was an early birthday gift, and one I will cherish forever. I hope to pass it down to my own kid if I should be so lucky.
I always felt that the Brynildsons should have a tradition of passing heirlooms down through the years. This way, I can start it. And it will last years too, the thing weighs like five pounds.
My friends appreciate quality craftsmanship in timepieces...
Thank you Linds.
Monday night was the Big Roast at The Monday Night Comedy Show.
I would like to write more, and maybe one day i will transcribe what I wrtoe for everyone, but remember that IndyFringe is less than two months away, so i gotta focus.
Everyone roasted me well. The winners of the night, and those who surprised me the most was Chris (Roommate) and Lindsey (watch giver and box office manager of the MNCS)
They kicked ass and took names.
Everyone else had major zingers, too. I honestly thought the BNW would come up in more of them, but my hair took center stage. And also my balls.
It was a roast, what are you gonna do?
The show ran way way too long, but I think everyone had a great time. I know I did.
Some of it is on the interweb, and can be accessed through facebook. Just look up 'Pommelhorse'
Terry Pound not only roasted my ass, but he also filmed it, and it will be part of him new podcast called 'Microscopic Life' He said the airdate would be in October. The podcast will be about the show itself, but the full roast would be on his website soon after.
Terry is a good guy, and I am thankful for his dedication to making awesome things.
Thanks to everyone who performed on Monday. it was great.
Tuesday I went to The Shout House downtown with Katie Oliver, The Dez, Jason Kruger, Haugie, Vinnie and Michael.
They have a thing with Birthdays where it f it's the tuesday before or after, you drink for free and your friends get good deals.
I also got a tee shirt, mug and some shot glasses.
Not a bad way to kill some brain cells.
Thanks to those guys for coming.
I might scam them on tuesday next, too. The server told us to...
Wednesday night I was at The Mill with Mo, Zissou, Zach, Lindsay and Joshy.
I might have had more fun than I should, but it was a good start to the Birthday festivus.
Today is the big day, and i went to Galactic Pizza for a bit, then decided to go see a movie.
I am having dinner with some family tonight in South Minneapolis, and then off to the Green Mill again at 10pm to meet and greet all who dare to pay tribute to me.
I would love for all to come and have some fun and converse with the oldest I have yet become on a birthday.
I am eating some cookies that my Step Mom sent. They have smily faces on them, and they are really really good.
If any of you have spoken to me in person, you know that my family is going through some really tough crap lately. If you are a praying type of person, say a word or two for them, please.
I love my family very much, and never say it enough. So here's to them, as i wouldn't be here without their help.
Have a great day & thanks for all the birthday wishes. I got some from folk who I never thought I would speak to again, and it really made me smile.
Please know that I am very thankful for all of you who are in my life now or have been in the past. Maybe we have fallen out of touch, maybe we got into a fight and you hate my guts.
I do the best I can for the most part, and while I still am not where I want to be, i keep trying.
I still am gonna misbehave, and being 30 will not change that. Just keep thinking of me from time to time, and I promise to surprise you if you are timid about dropping me a line.
I miss you. And if you are wondering if I mean You, then i probably am. Come on back to Andy Country...
See you tonight if you are able.
Stay Awesome.

Before bed.
CONvergence is the most fun I have had in a long time.
I think I will go back tomorrow and do some improv.
Sleep well, Twin Cities and beyond.
Stay awesome till tomorrow, and I will remind you again soon.
Andy (who turns 30 very soon, and is feeling rather lucky about making it this far)
